Recurring payment plans of any type will always attempt to rebill on the same calendar date as the previous payment. The exception to this is cycles shorter than a month, such as weekly or every 2 weeks.
Examples:
First payment (monthly): Nov 7
Rebills: Dec 7, Jan 7, etc. (shown in the next image)
First payment (quarterly): Apr 1
Rebills: Jul 1, Oct 1, Jan 1, etc.
First payment (yearly): Jul 24, 2024
Rebills: Jul 24, 2025, July 24, 2026, etc.
Pricing plans that reoccur monthly, every 2 months, quarterly, or every 6 months:
Schedule variations appear in the standard cycle when a payment falls on a calendar date that does not exist in a following month, such as the 29th, 30th, or 31st.
In these cases, the system will perform a correction to ensure the customer’s subscription period is not cut short.
Example: First payment (monthly): Jan 31
Rebills: Mar 2, Apr 2, May 2 (Feb appears to be “skipped” because of the schedule correction)
Pro tip
One “day” in the billing cycle is equal to 24 hours.
Rebills always attempt to process on or around the same time of day as the previous transaction in the subscription. Some variation in the exact time can occur depending on how busy the server is.
Quarterly recurrence subscriptions rebill every 3 months.
