Thank your new subscribers for opting in by automatically sending a follow-up email with a welcome gift. You can set this up using either a form welcome email or a sequence follow-up. Both options allow you to deliver a freebie to new contacts once they join your mailing list.
Option 1: Add a welcome email to a form
Go to Contacts > Forms: Open an existing form or create a new one
Go to the Settings tab: Open Send a welcome email and set the option to "Send an email"
Click Change to open the Welcome email module that appears and access the editor
Create your message: In the email composer, design your welcome message and add the gift:
Attach a file directly (e.g., PDF, eBook).
Add a button or link to a hosted file (e.g., Kartra-hosted file or cloud storage link).
Save and complete the form: Once saved, anyone who submits their email through the form will automatically receive your welcome email with the gift.
Option 2: Send a follow-up with a sequence email
Go to Marketing > Sequences
Edit or create a new sequence
Add a starting rule based on opt-in
Add an email step to the sequence flow
At the Content step, create your message and add the bonus gift
Attach a file
Add a button or link to a hosted file
Finish and activate the step, then connect it to the starting rule module
Complete the sequence and Save it
Why use a sequence follow-up?
The sequence method provides more flexibility. You can send the welcome email based on actions other than form submissions by using automation, additional starting rules, or even subscribing people manually. This gives you more control over how and when the gift is distributed.
