You can send SMS messages to your leads either as a one-time broadcast or as part of an automated sequence in Kartra.

Important: You need an active SMS gateway integration to send text messages from Kartra. Learn how to add an SMS integration.

Broadcast SMS

A broadcast SMS allows you to send a message immediately or schedule it for a specific time.

  1. Go to Marketing > Emails & SMS in your Kartra account.
  2. Click + Email/SMS to create a new message or click an existing one to open it.
  3. Select SMS as the broadcast type, name the message, and click Create.
  4. Use the SMS settings to:
    • Compose your message
    • Define the recipient list
    • Customize other preferences
  5. Click Send / Schedule to send the message immediately or schedule it for a future date and time.

Sequence SMS

A sequence SMS is sent automatically when a lead reaches a specific step in your automated marketing sequence.

  1. Go to Marketing > Sequences in your Kartra account.
  2. Click + Sequence to create a new sequence or click an existing one to open it.
  3. From the left menu, drag a Send Email / SMS step into the sequence canvas.
  4. Select SMS as the message type, name it, and click Create.
  5. To customize the message, click the three dots on the SMS step and select Edit.
  6. Connect the SMS step to the rest of the sequence and click Activate.

Once active, the SMS will be sent automatically whenever a lead subscribes to the sequence and reaches the configured timing.
