  • Control by post, not access level: Comments are turned on or off per post, not by access level, so settings apply universally to all members who can view the post.

  • Visibility: All members who have access to the post can view comments, similar to a blog. This creates a public discussion for anyone with access to see and join.

How to enable or disable comments in a membership

Pro tip: You can configure comment settings after creating at least one category and post in the Membership builder.

  1. Navigate to Memberships: Go to Memberships > All memberships.
  2. Open or create a membership: Open an existing membership or click + Membership in the upper right corner to create a new one.
  3. Launch the Membership Builder:
    1. Under Contents, launch the builder if you need to review or edit your posts.
    2. Ensure your posts are all set up, then exit the builder by choosing Actions > Save & Exit.
  4. Set commenting permissions:
    1. Under Comments, click Change in the Enable comments module.
      Toggle to enable or disable membership comments
    2. Toggle comments on or off for each post.
    3. Save your settings.
  5. Set moderation rules:
    1. Under Comments, click Change in the Comment moderation module. Note: This module does not appear if comments are turned off for all posts.

    3. Save your settings.

How to moderate comments

When comments are set to require admin approval, any new comments will be held for review. You can approve, reject, or edit pending comments from two locations:

  • Global comment dashboard: Go to Memberships > Comments to manage comments across all memberships.
  • On the public post: When logged in as an admin, you can also moderate directly from the post page.

Steps to moderate comments:

  1. Access the comment dashboard: Go to Memberships > Comments.
  2. Locate pending comments: Use the search bar or filters to find specific comments.

  3. Review and manage comments:
    • Click the commentor’s name to view their profile, if needed.
    • To view the comment in context, click the arrow to go to the post where it was written.
    • Choose an action:
      • Approve: Click the checkmark to approve and publish.
      • Edit: Click the pencil icon to make changes to the comment.
      • Delete: Click the X to remove the comment. Note: Deleted comments cannot be restored.
