Compare multiple versions of a page using Kartra's built-in split testing tool.

Split testing (also known as A/B testing) means showing different versions of a page to different people to see which one performs better. It helps you improve conversions by finding out which version gets the most opt-ins, visits, or purchases.

How it works:

When you set up a split test, Kartra creates a special split-test link. This works like a tracking link, but instead of pointing to one page, it sends people to one of the pages you're testing. The chance of choosing a specific page is something you define in percentages.

You can place the split test link behind a button, hyperlink, or use it in emails and social posts.

Key details:

  • Test multiple pages: Compare up to four different pages in one split test
  • Distribute visitors: Choose the percentage of visitors each page will receive.
  • Track goals: Measure opt-ins, page visits, and purchases

Set up your split test

  1. Go to Pages > All Pages > Split tests
  2. Click + Split test to launch the setup wizard.Split tests dashboard with highlighted "+ Split test" button.
  3. Name your test, then click Next.

  4. Choose up to four Kartra pages to test.
    • Assign the percentage of visitors to each page (must total 100%)

Pro-tip

Start with just two pages for easier comparisons. Testing too many pages at once can make it difficult to see a clear winner.

Choose your goals

Decide which goal(s) you want Kartra to track:

  • Opt-in: How many visitors who came through the split test filled in a specific form.
  • Page visit: How many of them visited specific pages with a page tracking code.
  • Purchase: How many purchased a particular product.

Let Kartra choose a winner (optional)

You can let Kartra automatically pick the winning page after a certain number of visitors. Choose one of these options:

  • Highest revenue: The page that generated the most revenue (best when tracking purchases)
  • Highest goal ratio: The page that fulfilled the most goals overall (best when tracking opt-ins, visits, or multiple goal types)

If you skip this step, the test will continue until you manually stop it.

Add tags (optional)

You can tag all visitors who click your split test link. This is useful for tracking behavior, triggering automations, or segmenting contacts.

Keep in mind

The tag selected at this step is applied to everyone who clicks the link—regardless of which page they’re sent to.

Once your split test is running, Kartra makes it easy to monitor performance and make decisions.

What you can track

  • Goals: How many completed the selected goal(s)
  • Revenue: How much was earned from each page
  • Days: How long the test has been active

    • This variable takes into account conversion rates and number of visitors per page.

After a test ends, the Actions column updates to:

    • Note: Resetting a test will delete your previous results.
