Say hello to faster checkouts (and Apple Pay!)

We just launched a brand new way to sell with Kartra—and it’s built for speed, flexibility, and mobile wallets.

With our new Checkouts feature, you can now offer Apple Pay, Google Pay, and Klarna to your customers. This means your visitors can complete a purchase with a quick tap, especially when they’re on their phones.

Why this matters: More and more people shop on mobile. But until now, Kartra didn’t support mobile payment methods. That meant some potential customers were dropping off before they ever completed their order. With this update, that blocker is gone.

Here’s what’s new:

  • Mobile payments are in. Connect Stripe and start accepting Apple Pay, Google Pay, and Klarna.
  • Faster checkout load times. Pages load smoother and faster, giving customers a better experience.
  • More flexibility. Checkouts are now separate from product settings. You can create multiple checkout pages for the same product—perfect for A/B testing or special campaigns.

How to get started:

  1. Create a new Checkout asset inside Kartra.
  2. Link an existing or new Product to the Checkout.
  3. Integrate Stripe Connect as the payment processor. (Required for Apple Pay, Google Pay, and Klarna.)
  4. Share the Checkout via direct link or embed it on a sales page.

Your buyers will see a sleek, mobile-optimized checkout with the payment options they expect—and you’ll see better conversions as a result.

This is just the beginning. We’re building on this new feature to unlock even more powerful checkout tools. But today, it’s all about mobile pay. And it’s ready for you right now.

Checkouts FAQs

Wondering if you should use the new Checkouts feature?

This FAQ answers the most common questions from Kartra users who want an easier, faster way to sell—without interrupting what’s already working.

What is the new Checkouts feature?

  • The new Kartra Checkout lets you create fast, flexible checkout forms that are mobile-optimized and support Apple Pay, Google Pay, and Klarna via Stripe Connect.

Is it worth using Checkouts if I don’t use Stripe?

  • Yes. Even without Stripe, the new checkout loads faster and includes its own analytics. It’s also where all future improvements will be added. The older checkout setup in product settings will eventually be retired.

Does this improve load speed on mobile?

  • Yes. The new checkout loads faster, especially on mobile devices. Faster loading helps reduce drop-off and boost conversion rates.

Will my bump offer or upsell still work if I use the new Checkouts feature?

  • Yes. If the product linked to your checkout has a bump offer set up, it will appear on the new checkout form.

Where do I create the thank you page for my Checkouts?

  • The thank you page is still set in your product settings. No matter which checkout a customer uses, they’ll be redirected to the thank you page configured in the product they purchased.

Can I still use PayPal with the new Checkouts?

  • Yes. You can use PayPal and other payment gateways with Kartra Checkouts. However, mobile and financing options like Apple Pay and Klarna only work with Stripe Connect. They aren’t supported with Square, Authorize.net, or Braintree.

Do I have to change my product setup to use the new checkout?

  • No. You can use your current product settings or create new ones. Checkouts are created as separate assets and linked to your products.

How is this different from the old checkout setup?

  • The new system separates the product (what you sell) from the checkout (how you sell it). You can create multiple checkout assets for the same product, each with its own payment processor and color scheme.

How do I add a new checkout to my sales page?

  • After creating a checkout asset, add it to a Kartra page using a checkout component or share the default checkout page using a direct link.
  • Learn more: Add a Checkout to a Kartra Page

How do I enable mobile payments?

  • To offer mobile payment options, connect your Stripe account to Kartra using Stripe Connect and select it as the payment processor in your new checkout. Mobile payment options will automatically appear for customers at checkout when supported.

Will Apple Pay, Google Pay, and Klarna work automatically for all customers?

  • Not always. These options appear only if Stripe Connect is the processor and when supported by the visitor’s device and browser. For example, Apple Pay shows on Safari with Apple Wallet set up. Klarna only appears for one-time payments and may not be available in all countries.

Can I use this for split testing different offers?

  • Yes. You can create multiple checkout versions with different payment processors, layouts, or offers. Each checkout has its own analytics, making it easier to test and compare performance.

Does this replace the existing checkout system?

  • Not yet. Both systems are available for now. However, new features will only be added to the new Checkouts feature going forward.

Is this available for all Kartra users?

  • Yes. All Kartra plans include access to the new Checkouts feature. Apple Pay, Google Pay, and Klarna require Stripe Connect and may involve additional processing fees or location-based limits. Check with Stripe for details.
