Help your members stay on track and absorb your lessons at the right pace.

Use drip schedules and the progress bar to release content gradually and guide members through it in order.

This article is for you if you want to:

  • Give members time to process what you teach.
  • Increase retention and engagement.
  • Create timed launches.

Key details

  • Progress bar: Visually track members’ course completion.
  • Linear progress: Requires members to view one post before unlocking the next (available only when the progress bar is enabled.)
  • Drip schedules: Delay content release to match your learning pace.

Pro tip

Plan your course structure ahead of time. This helps you coordinate your access levels, drip schedules, and progress rules effectively.

Set up a drip schedule

Drip schedules apply to each post individually and can’t differ by access level.

You can make posts available immediately, delay their release by a number of days after access was granted, or release them on a specific date. Learn how to schedule membership posts for timed release

Pro tip

You can also enable new post notifications to automatically alert members when new lessons are released.

Enable linear progress

The progress bar shows members how far they’ve come in your program. When enabled, it also gives you the option to force linear progression, which keeps members focused by unlocking posts in sequence.

To enable linear progress:

  1. Go to Memberships in your Kartra dashboard.
  2. Click your membership’s name and select the Progress tab.
  3. Press Change to edit the Progress bar module.
  4. Select Yes, display the progress bar and force linear progression.
Progress tab in membership wizard, with force linear progression option selected.
  5. For each access level, choose which post should be included in the progress bar (and therefore the linear progression).

Important:

If you enable linear progress, a post becomes available only after:

  • The previous post has been viewed, and
  • Its drip schedule (if any) has already released it.

Test your release settings

To make sure your flow works as intended:

  1. Add a test contact to the relevant access level.
  2. Log in as that member to check what’s visible.
  3. Confirm that upcoming posts unlock according to your schedule and progress settings.
