Learn how to add Checkouts to a Kartra sales page.
If you’re using Kartra Pages to build your sales page, adding a Checkout is simple. The method you use to add it depends on the type of checkout you created:
- Kartra-hosted: A standalone checkout page linked from a button or navigation menu.
- Pop-up checkout: A pop-up that appears when clicking a button.
- Embedded checkout: A form placed directly on your sales page.
Key details
- Your Checkout must be published before it appears in the link or component menus.
- You’ll only see matching types in each menu — pop-ups won’t appear as embeddable components, for example.
Pro tip: Mix it up!
You can use different Checkout styles throughout your Sales page. For example:
- Start with a pop-up button near the top.
- Add an embedded Checkout halfway down.
- End with a Kartra-hosted link near the bottom.
These are just examples — feel free to customize based on your page layout and customer flow.
How to add a Checkout
Option 1: Link to a separate Checkout page
Checkout type: Kartra-hosted. Use this if you want the buyer to leave your sales page and go to a new Checkout page.
To link a button to a Checkout page:
- Go to Pages > All pages and open your sales page or create a new one
- Edit the object people will click to go to your Checkout, for example:
- Add or edit a button component
- Edit a navigation menu item
- In the settings, go to the Linktab
- Choose “Link to a Kartra hosted new checkout”
- Select your Checkout from the dropdown list
- Click Apply to save the link
- Save or Publish your page
Option 2: Open a Checkout in a pop-up
Checkout type: Pop-up. This keeps users on your page but brings up the Checkout when they click a button.
To link a button to a pop-up Checkout:
- Go to Pages > All pages and open your sales page or create a new one
- Add or edit a button
- Go to the Linktab
- Choose “Pop a new checkout”
- Select your pop-up Checkout from the list
- Click Apply to save the link
- Save or Publish your page

Option 3: Embed the Checkout directly in the page
Checkout type: Embedded. This lets you place the Checkout form directly in your content — no extra clicks.
To add a Checkout component:
- Go to Pages > All pages and open your sales page or create a new one
- From the left menu, click Components, then Checkouts
- Drag the Checkout placeholder onto your page
- Click to edit it, and choose your embedded Checkout from the list
- Click Apply, then Save or Publish
Your Checkout will display using the layout you designed in the Checkout editor.
Tip: Embedded Checkouts can also be added to your external website with a code.
