Enable or disable Apple Pay, Google Pay, or Klarna

Turn Apple Pay, Google Pay, or Klarna on or off in Kartra Checkouts. These payment options work automatically with Stripe Connect.

Easy setup: Apple Pay, Google Pay, and Klarna are enabled by default when you link Stripe Connect to a Kartra Checkout.
- Apple Pay and Google Pay are mobile wallet payment methods.
- Klarna is a Buy Now, Pay Later (BNPL) payment method, a type of interest-free financing.
Apple Pay and Google Pay always on with Stripe: You can’t disable them individually. To remove them, use a different payment provider.
Klarna control: Klarna can be turned off from inside your Stripe account.
Possible fees: Klarna has higher processing fees when compared with Cards and wallets pricing. Check Stripe's pricing.

How to enable Apple Pay, Google Pay, or Klarna

To offer a mobile wallet or 'Buy Now, Pay Later' at checkout:

Create and add Stripe Connect
- First, sign up for a Stripe account.
- Then, integrate Stripe with Kartra.
Set up your Product and Checkout in Kartra
- Create and publish a Product.
- Create and publish a Checkout.
- Make sure Stripe Connect is linked to both as the payment processor.
Done!
- Apple Pay, Google Pay, and Klarna are now available to eligible buyers.
- Embed the Checkout on a sales page or share the direct link with buyers.

To turn off Klarna

Go to your Stripe dashboard.
Click the gear icon in the top right for Settings.
Under Payment methods, select Payments.
Select Payment methods.
Locate the Payment configuration for Kartra and click it.
Find Klarna, click to expand it, and turn it off.

Mobile payments FAQs

Is it worth using Checkouts if I don’t use Stripe?

Yes. Even without Stripe, the new checkout includes its own analytics, making it easier to see how each one is performing. It’s also where all future improvements will be added. The older checkout setup in product settings will eventually be retired.

Can I still use PayPal with the new Checkouts?

Yes. You can use PayPal and other payment gateways with Kartra Checkouts. However, mobile wallet options like Apple Pay and Klarna only work with Stripe Connect. They aren’t supported with Square, Authorize.net, or Braintree.

Will mobile pay and Klarna work automatically for all customers?

Not always. These options appear only when supported by the visitor’s device and browser. For example, Apple Pay shows on Safari with Apple Wallet set up. Klarna only appears for one-time payments and may not be available in all countries.
