Learn how Kartra can automatically connect your domain for you, whether you purchase it from Ionos inside Kartra or you add a domain hosted by a supported provider.

If your hosting provider supports automatic updates, Kartra can create the DNS records necessary to connect your domain. If your provider is not supported, you can manually link your domain to your account.

Automatic configuration

When automatic domain integration succeeds, your DKIM authentication records are also created automatically. Learn more about automatic DKIM setup in Kartra.

How automatic domain setup works

Kartra offers two ways to automatically connect your domain. Both options let Kartra create the DNS records needed for domain connection without requiring you to log into your hosting account:

If you purchase a domain from Ionos through Kartra, it will be connected for you right after checkout. No additional domain configuration is required.

You can also automatically connect a domain you already own, if your hosting provider is supported.

How automatic domain configuration works

To use the automatic configuration for a domain hosted by a supported provider:

  1. In your Kartra account, go to Settings > Domains
  2. Click the +Domain button and select Add custom domain.
  3. Choose domain or subdomain, then enter your domain name.
  4. Set up your index page and 404, then click Next. 

Kartra will check whether your hosting provider supports automatic domain setup. 

If supported, select the Automatic configuration option and click Finish.

Kartra will create the DNS records for you.

Important:

Automatic setup will be unavailable if your hosting provider is not supported.

In this case:

  • The Automatic configuration option is greyed out. 
  • Kartra will display the manual DNS values you need to add at your registrar.

After your domain is integrated

Once your domain is successfully integrated:

  • It appears in Settings > Domains
  • You can immediately brand your Kartra links with your new domain.
